It has been two weeks since my last post. Thankfully, uneventful. That is, except for the weather! Back to back hurricanes did disrupt my training, but then I was not supposed to be doing a lot anyway. And there was Pattie's hospital stay. We are both back home and doing well, and no storm damage. Smooth sailing ahead.
I decided to get more involved with the Zoot Racing Team. Attending their meetings is awkward due to the time, Fridays at 11am HST. This week I tried it from my work computer. Got in well enough, lag was acceptable, but I could not sign in and participate in the chat. Next time I'll take my iPad and sit outside. Only thirty minutes.
Mark Goddard, the organizer, is giving away Ironman races for 2027. Any North American race. That is an $1100 deal! This time there was just over one hundred entries, so the odds are good. I'll try again next week.
I was signed up to race IM California this year but due to my head injury I decided to withdraw and focus on Honu. Now, after hanging out with Team Zoot, I am inspired to find a full distance race. I chose IM California to put a large gap after Honu, and its proximity to my son Matt. This time I'm more interested in the course conditions.
